Objective

To determine the survival of Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium in the drinking water without and with the presence of seven (7) different products in the environment of a poultry house

Products Tested

Six (6) products were mixtures of organic acids such as formic, lactic, propionic, citric and other product was Nutra OPA, containing Nutra OPA as the active ingredient

 

Conclusions

  • Nutra OPA is an efficient and economic antibacterial that controls bacteria, fungi, and a variety of viruses.
  • Nutra OPA does not require special handling. It does, however require mixing with unchlorinated water to follow specified protocols.
  • Nutra OPA is not an antibiotic or a chemical that affects DNA. It does not create resistance, and does not require rotation.
  • The residual effects of Nutra OPA can last between 48-72 hours as compared to other products containing chlorine which last 2-3 hours only.

Toxicology studies of Nutra OPA prove that it is not harmful to worms, fish, bees, algae and human cells.
